It's important for your potential customers to be able to find your wash online, and an easy way to do that is by having a Facebook presence for your wash. Setting up a Facebook page for your business is different than setting up a personal page, so let's walk through the steps to putting together a Facebook page for your wash.
Step One: Go to www.facebook.com and log in to your personal page, or the personal page of whomever will manage your wash's Facebook account.
Step Two: Click the down arrow in the upper righthand corner, and then select the first option, "Create Page."
Step Three: That will bring you to this page. Once you're here, click the "Local Business or Place" box in the upper lefthand corner.
Step Four: This form will appear. Enter the name of your wash, your car wash's address, and your business phone number. For "Page Category", be sure to put "Car Wash"! Once you're done, click "Get Started."
Step Five: Congratulations! Your wash now officially has a Facebook page. Your screen should now look like this:
Step Six: The first thing you should do is add a profile picture in this space. Do this by clicking the little cameria icon in the lower righthand corner, and then select "Upload Photo." This is a great pace for a photo of your wash's logo, or a photo of the name of your wash.
Step Seven: Now it's time to add a cover photo by clicking "Add Cover" in the upper lefthand corner. This is a great place for a large picture of your wash, or a shot of your wash in action. Be sure to select a visually appealing photo – bright colors are always good!
Step Eight: Let's add some information about our wash. Click "About" on the lefthand side of the page:
Step Nine: This is what you should see. This is where you can add all of the details about your business. Be sure to include your wash hours and contact information, along with the "story" of your wash. Are you a family-owned business? How long have you been washing cars in your community? Are you a full service wash or express exterior? This is where your marketing skills come in handy! You can also include information on your car wash package offerings, so your potential customers will know what to expect when they visit your wash.
Now that you have the basics of your car wash Facebook page set up, you can start sharing posts and spreading the word! Some great things to post about include any deals or specials you're currently running, local community news, new product announcements, and other fun things happening at your wash. Don't forget to share your page on your personal Facebook timeline – it's a great way to get activity started on your business page.
